I had a $2 off coupon that you could not use after 2 o'clock. We got there a little before 2. There was a line because the cashier was slow. Got up to the register and the cashier said the computer showed it was 2:02. Said we could not use the coupon. I told him we were in line before 2. Said we could not use it. Walked out of Old Country Buffet and drove down the road and found a restaurant that had a buffet and the prices and food were similar. We went to Old Country Buffet regularly but now I think I have found a new restaurant.
5. There wasn't much to choose from. Everything would be different types of chicken
This was a great restaurants to eat at
7. Most the food was either under cooked or over cooked.
9. Over all lazy environment
1. The managers were walking around, asking how the food was. It showed they cared.
2. There was always food out on the tables.
With a drink and dinner we paid about $15 each. The soup and salad were pretty good. The desserts were good but other than that it was downhill from there. My green beans were watery and similar to what you find in a can. The broccoli was too soft and also watery. I found that the carrots were too soft and water as well. It seemed to be a theme with the vegetables. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good though. The corn bread was good as well with a nice texture and taste. The steak was almost raw. The Chinese food I think it was orange chicken was way too sweet. We got one of each cookie. The chocolate chip cookie and snickerdoodles were hard as a rock. The chocolate cookie was softer but still not great tasting. I thought that the food quality was less than great. I would have asked for a refund but didn't have the courage or time. The staff on the other hand was very friendly and kind. The atmosphere was nice as well. It was just the food that was disappointing.
1. It was a sloppy environment to be in. Food was on the tables and the floor.
The food was kinda good. But if they fixed these 10 things it would be a good restaurant.
10. The employees would curse in front of customers complaining about the management.
3. The food was extremely unhealthy, when I ate I felt like I had just eaten 3 bags of chips.
4. People would cough all over the food.
6. The employees looked sad and depressed which made it a sad mood for everyone.
8. Some of the food opinions lacked the food clippers. So people would pick food up.
Great customer service! Visited Old Country Buffet recently with my boyfriend and his grandmother who has to use a walker in order to get around. My boyfriend's grandmother was up at a buffet station getting some food and was struggling a bit and Sharon, one of the employees there was incredibly helpful. She brought her plate over to our table and even helped her get the rest of her food. She also put her walker in a safe place and got a cup for my boyfriend's 3 year old daughter so she wouldn't spill her drink. If you ever visit this restaurant you will be surely greeted by Sharon and her friendly demeanor and attitude. She provided excellent customer service to us that was greatly appreciated.
Then there is why I didn't put the other 4 stars.
Great food, good selection and good service. If you leave there hungry it is your fault.
Well the one star is for the two good things I saw.
2. When you exit the building, the exit room smelled like cigarette smoke.
