Never have had a bad time here. Always great food, beers, and an awesome historic feel. And the upstairs always has great bands to watch. If you're just in town for a night or two, the Deer Park is a must.
Artichoke and crab dip was full of real crab meat, and burgers were excellent! Wait staff seemed very friendly.
First time to Newark and had a horrible experience here. Bouncer named Brandon kicked me and my buddies out claiming we were being inappropriate when we were just trying to have a few drinks and leave. The bouncer was clearly misinformed and was very inappropriate when he approached us. I don't find it fair that I was kicked out for no reason after spending hundreds of dollars here over the years. Definitely won't be coming back to deer park. Brandon needs to go. All of this because my cousin hugged me and Brandon said it was inappropriate while all these teenagers were all over each other on the dance floor. Would rate a 0/5 If I could. Also to mention, limited parking, high prices, and a staff that is very unprofessional wouldn't recommend. Plenty of other bars in the area.
Deer Park is a great place to visit. There are not only students that visit Deer Park, it is visited by tourist due to the fact that it is an historic place that many famous people have been along the way. Take for instance Edgar Allan Poe, he is just one among many that have enjoyed a beer there as well as a meal or an appetizer with their drink. Don't miss Deer Park, you will enjoy the experience and you will remember this place forever.
