R.T. Foard Funeral Home Directors are family. They have served the Sweetman Family for many, many years and the service we have received from Bob, Frank, Whitney, Dennis and all the R.T. Foard members have made very difficult times and decisions a much easier process due to their caring and compassionate nature. We cannot express how deeply grateful we are to them for all their help in such a time of need.
It's never pleasant when planning a loved one's visitation and funeral. My husband died in September after several months of failing health. While it was not unexpected, it was still a very emotional time for me and my daughters as we took the necessary steps to give him the send off that he deserved. From the initial meeting with the Funeral Director (Lou), consultation and follow up phone calls with the owner (R.T. Foard, Jr.), and interactions with other staff members, I was blown away. The level of professionalism, compassion and obvious concern for my needs, was beyond anything I anticipated. They helped me on so many levels and made me feel that everything would be fine. I have buried many family members who chose to use other funeral homes. None compare to the level of service and expertise I experienced at R. T. Foard & Jones. From the moving and professionally executed video of photos, complete with music, the photo displays, the personalized guest book and other ancillary materials, to the gentlemen who helped direct traffic at the visitation -- I could not have been more pleased. They all did everything they could to make a sad situation as easy as possible to bear. I will be forever grateful.
Terrible experience. Worst staff. Treated my family with the utter disrespect and were rude. Should never have to deal with service like this after losing a loved one. Cold hearted monsters.
My mom passed away in April. She had indicated may years ago that she wanted R.T. Foard & Jones on Main St in Newark to handle everything since she had been impressed with other funeral services that she had attended there. We are so glad that she made her wishes known! The staff (specifically Sarah!) was extremely helpful and compassionate. The amount of work that they were able to accomplish within a few days was amazing. They created a photo pamphlet for guests to take, a DVD with music, a photo guest book, a canvas photo collage, etc. They were very helpful in accommodating our wishes for the service. Even though we were there for a sad reason, it was a very uplifting experience. I would highly recommend them.
